Working closely with architects the house and garden were gradually transformed over some years. The project continues, with the promise of a folly at some stage in the future.

The house is Victorian and the client very keen to create a formal garden in the appropriate style. Old railings were recovered and restored to include the long path to the 11th Century church just beyond the vegetable garden.

The latter was built of brick and flint and a beautiful reproduction Victorian glasshouse erected.

The stream in the front garden leads down to a lake with a formal water feature inside the courtyard.

The house and garden were both featured in an episode of Midsomer Murders with the body being discovered under the rather impressive cedar tree.
