The Manor is a truly beautiful house enjoying outstanding views. The interior of the property has been lovingly restored and the client wanted the garden to complement the house.

The grounds are extensive and include a maze with a secret underground passage, a walled kitchen garden and many other beautiful features.

The garden did lack flowers and structure. The design is characterised by simplicity, with a new pathway linking the terrace to the swimming pool, with herbaceous borders and lavender hugging its sides.

An uninteresting grass walkway between the yew hedge and kitchen garden has been transformed into a neat path with formal planting on the right and a blousy herbaceous riot of colour on the left.

The kitchen garden lacked structure and was quite unworkable. Paths have been widened and set at 45-degree angles, which in turn link back to the path to the house.

Bespoke fruit cages were constructed and the asparagus lovingly returned.
